Perfectionist
I'm really hard on myself most of the time, so this one was a hard lesson to learn. But we can't be perfect 24/7, and sometimes the greatest insights come from mistakes.Laughed 'till I cried
A friend of mine put up a bunch of pictures from high school drama days on Facebook. I was so excited I called a friend (who I did not know in high school) and showed her the album, reminiscing the whole time!Amazing!
My best friend is an interpreter for the deaf, and has taught me the rudiments of ASL (American Sign Language). It's amazing and wonderful to be able to communicate with a deaf person in their own language. And don't worry if you're not very skilled in sign-- I'm fumble-fingered at best, and even my clumsy efforts are embraced. It's just a sign of respect to talk to a person in their preferred language.Really makes a difference
I used to do tech support on the phone, and one of my first trainers taught us to smile when we picked up. Over time I've discovered that you really CAN tell when someone is smiling, so I make a point to always do so. I also smile when calling someone else, be it a friend or my credit card company. Everyone can benefit from a smile!Just makes sense
If it's a bit chilly, it makes better sense to put on a sweater or pair of slippers than to get the heater going.Almost always
When I buy tickets for the light-rail in my town, I almost always get back $0.25. Lately I've begun to leave the quarter in the change tray. I may not be well-off, but I figure someone else probably needs that quarter as much or more than I do.
