We've gone a couple of times to stich 'n bitch sessions ... basically there's groups all over the country. It's usually in a bar or cafe and is just an informal group of people that knit. So you go, take some woll, a couple of needles and just knit and chat. It's fun. You get to meet lots of different people. Our presentation at Plashet School
We did a presentation at the training for a group of new Young SpeakersI finished my very first scarf ...
just in time for my mom's bday ... here she is!I picked pears with my neighbours
So I hadn't realised but our street is lined with 7 massive pear trees. A few years ago the council was going to cut them down because pears were falling on cars and heads. Some residents campaigned to save the pear trees. The pear trees were saved! The agreement being that the council comes once a year to help pick the trees and local residents get to keep the fruit. So ... so far I've made banana and pear cake, pear chutney and stewed pears ... and have gotten to know my neighbours!
it's green, fluffy and has a big hole in it ...
... but it's great! it's the chatting bit that confuses me and the stiching goes all wrong then
