Does growing Eggs count?
We now get REAL free range eggs from REALLY happy hens in our own garden. If you are a family getting through a dozen eggs a week, it could cost up to £170 a year for good free rangers. For that amount we've set up 3 girls in the garden and get upto 21 really good eggs a week. The chucks are very easy to keep, needing only 5 to 10 minutes each day to collect eggs/little clean up/freshen food and water. Food and bedding are also very cheap. Selling the excess eggs to friends and neighbours also reduces your costs further.
Go on, give it a go !!!!!!!!!
