Ugly shirts? Awesome bags!
I took two old shirts (and I have a third to do) and turned them into grocery bags. The one made out of Larry the Cucumber is particularly awesome/cute. I love using him as a library bag.Knitted gifts
I've knitted socks and a hat for my mother, a scarf for my dad, and cup holders for my dad and stepdad. Next up: a scarf for my man (ok that's crochet, but close enough).Just because I'm not reading them...
...doesn't mean someone else won't love them. Every few months I go through my bookshelves (around 1200 books live with me currently) and cull out ones I'm not going to read, haven't touched in years, etc. They go to the used book stores - those that don't get accept there after a few rounds go to my local library.
