Supporting Local Business at the Marietta Square, Georgia
Do you love to visit the quaint shopping areas in your town on a lovely Spring day? Consider making those wonderful gift shops, coffee shops, wine markets, consignment shops and restaurants a regular stop. Next time you need a quick gift for a special friend, or a great cup of coffee stop by your local business to grab it. Chances are the money you potentially save by frequenting the mall or Starbucks will never equal the experience and friendships you will build by visiting your local business. My favorites at the Marietta Square in Marietta, Georgia are (in no particular order):
* Limelights - fabulous gifts including Lampe Berger, Life is Good, Curly Girl and more.
* Alchemy - great unique jewelry that will have all of your friends asking, 'Where did you get that?'
* Mint Julep - fun and funky consignment shop
* Church Street Market - delicious jellies, jams, sauces, syrups from local entrepreneurs
* Marietta Wine Market - Wow! local wines, imported wines, great cheeses, fun wine glasses & decanturs - wine tastings at least 2 to 3 times per week.
* L Michelle - botique with fun, funky clothing featured in the 'In Style' magazine, Spanx, great shoes and jewelry
* Lizards & Lollipops - This store has the toys that you remember from your childhood like sock monkeys and their newest competitor the Ugly doll!
* Willie Rae's - this edgy restaurant features cajun cuisine with a twist of southwest. The artwork on the walls, much of which is by their very own staff, is desert for the imagination.
* Kiosco - wonderful, delectible Columbian cuisine. Oh my!
* Marietta Pizza - this is THE place to be! Yummy pizza and buzzing with local and out of town guests! Another great place for local art finds....
I could go on and on, but you get the idea! When ever I think about what I need to buy, I consider the Marietta Square first before taking my busuness to 'the mall' or the 'discount store'. Not only are you supporting your local business owners and the local artists that they feature, you are supporting your local economy!
More Parties
Although we frequent lots of parties, from children's birthdays to the big bashes we throw for ~100, one can never have enough time spending with fabulous friends and family. One of our favorites was the per-Christmas party where we gathered Toys for Tots.
