Thank You
So last year, our idillic riverside cottage was going to be sold from under our feet. My step-dad, Trevor is the Lockeeper at Hanham Lock, and so that's where I grew up. We were at the centre of a tight-knit community who share everything. We grew veg, played music, had bonfires, went boating, built rope swings and made maore friends then I can count.Faced with homelessness, my geniuos step-dad wrote the 'Thank You Song'. It is to remind us all how much we have to be thankful for. The idea was that people would download it to help save the house...
We all helped make the video, the small blonde girl is my sister, the man and woman who make their bodies into shapes are my parents <3
... and I'm in there somewhere as well!
The song didn't take off, but I still love it, brings a tear to my eye!
We kept being positive, and after a year of worry and petitioing, the house is no-longer being sold :-)THANK YOU! (-:
Sometimes saying thank you to no-one in particular can be just as good :-)

The picture is of our garden :-)
Blanket Fort!
Ok, so it was the morning after the night before and a group of 8 teenagers were bored...Until I said two words... 'Blanket'... 'Fort'....
Suddenly every blanket, chair and cusion in my house had been moved into my bedroom. Skillfully, the said objects were crafted into a fort that could happily fit 10 of us.
The most fun part was knocking it down!
Yay, randomness!
Party!
So it was a monster party, ok! I don't always look like this!Diwali Weekend
So, with it being Diwali on the 17th and all...I thought it'd be fun to make some traditional lanterns...
We bought in some clay, some glittery/sequeny type stuff and some newspaper, covered a table in the college cafe and got to work!
They looked sooo beautiful :-)
Homemade bread is sooo much better!
Daisy and I are keen bakers! We are always chucking random ingredients together to see how they taste...Yesterday I randomly made banana cake (because I had some over ripe banans) and fed it to my friends... Nothing like a piece of hot cake and cup of tea! :-) (None of them have died yet...)
Daisy also loves baking, although it can get very messy! ;-)
I've started making bread, and truly, eating REALLY fresh bread with jam and butter is one of the most comforting things you can do...
Yummy Carrots
My daughter and I planted some seeds way back in March... since then we have been tending them lovingly, talking and singing to them (well Daisy anyway) and generally being lovely to the little plants. Our autumn crop was awesome, we had potatoes, carrots, tomatoes, corgettes, basil, mint, and a big fat marrow... yum!
carrots never tasted so good!
