Taught my class some sign language
Our teacher hadn't turned up to the lesson as she was ill so I spontaneously decided to teach them all some basic sign language. I taught them some simple sentences and most of the sign language alphabet (the bits I could remember!)Tiramisu
My mum's taught me her secret tiramisu recipe and helped me make it over the weekend. I have to say it was the best tiramisu I've ever tasted in my life! And I did enjoy spending an hour in the kitchen with my mum.First aid course
I did a first aid course a few months ago and found the course itself very fun. I feel good about being able to perform basic first aid and sometimes secretly wish that people around me so I could perform first aid on them :)This cropped up in discussion the other day (we were talking about which songs to sing while doing CPR, you'll know what I mean if you've done a course!) and I managed to convince a few of my friends to give it a go and they are now going to sign up for a course over the holidays.
Our presentation at Radcliffe Community Festival
We went along to a Community Festival at the reopening of the Radcliffe boys and girls club which was part of the Conservative party conference social action project. We got loads of people to agree to do actions and gave books out to families, MPs and Samantha Cameron. My mini presentation at Manchester Grammar School
I did a small presentation in front of my form as a practise and have realised 2 things I could do to improve the talk.1) Remember to bring my USB stick with media on it
2) Prepare enough material for the full amount of time
The real problem was that I intended to show some of the videos but I left my USB stick at home and then I had to improv the extra time which didn't go too well.
All in all the presentation was okay and I'm sure my next talk will be better!
Turn the tap off while brushing your teeth
It's a small thing to do and I've managed to get into the habit of doing it every day. I've also managed to get my brother and sister to do it too so we all encourage each other to turn the tap off.Don't charge your phone overnight.
I've managed to stop charging my phone overnight completely and now I just stick it on the charger for about 20 minutes a day. It's better for me like this anyway because normally when I wake up with my phone being charged overnight it feels really hot in the morning so I don't get that problem any more.Join a group campaign
