Plastic cups are the spawn of the devil. Plastic cups are like a mixture of Chucky the ventriloquist's doll, the guy with the hockey mask and the Japanese girl on the black and white TV set. When you next see a plastic cup, think about all this. If it makes you throw up with fear, maybe you've got an overactive imagination and you should cut down on the horror films for a bit. But plastic cups are taking over the world and they're nasty.

    eco cup

    I got a thermal porcelain cup with a silicone lid and painted flowers on it. The one in the photo is not mine, but it inspired me when I saw it in the Natural History Museum in London. By the way: Many places even sell you your coffee-to-go cheaper when you bring your own cup.

    Workplace!

    I've been doing this action at my workplace for about 5 months now. I only use a normal cup to drink water.
    I used to drink it in a plastic cup and I was feeling bad for doing that. It's amazing how good we feel just by doing a small action.

    Mugs and bottles

    I love my BYO Cup by Melbourne's HookTurn Industries - it's silicon so it is heatproof (up to 200degC!). It's funky and because it's soft it's easy to carry. Baristas love it and everyone always asks about it. And I have an aluminium water bottle that I can clip on or chuck in my backpack. It's easy to be sustainable AND funky! 25 May 2010, 03:25

    Raise awareness

    I take my re-usable water botte and coffe tumbler with me on public transport and to work. It's environmentally friendly and hopefully it will influence others to do the same. Disposable cups are out! 21 May 2010, 23:00

    Not only the plastic cup but also the paper cup...

    I feel sorry for using plastic cups and paper cups in the past years. Now I drink at workplace with the glass cylindar provided by company, moreover, I will buy a water bottle and keep it in my bag everyday. 24 February 2010, 01:56

    Nifty plastic cup replacement

    The RNLI do a wonderful collapsable plastic cup in a small package only about 8 cm diameter. It is a really useful thing to have in the briefcase or handbag for all those watercoolers out there. Highly recommend it or something similar. 31 January 2010, 20:45

    Bottles

    instead of using plastic cups for every time i want a drink at college , i just re-fill my bottle every time. Then i can recycle the bottle later! so its all good for the environment :) 10 November 2009, 12:09

    Office Coffee

    i need that mug on my tree!


    I need that mug on my mug tree as my wife has alreaddy registeded interest in one (her name is sarah) an i thought we could resuce again the number of mugs used in our house. it also seems like fate that both our names are on the list.     my mug tree needs that mug!


    my mug tree needs that mug because without it all my family will keep making tea in fresh cups because they can't remember whose mug is whose. this results in untold amounts if hot water being used needlessly, as well as washing up liquid (and not to mention all those chapped hands). on top of that I think it's really cool!     17 February 2008, 08:36
