Technically we aren't drinking out of it, but we are currently walking around our college building with a GIANT INFLATABLE MUG encouraging people to buy fairtrade tea and coffee. People are also donating money to the fairtrade foundation in order to have their picture taken with it! Encorporating two actions into one! :) 01 March 2010, 10:01mugs away

I generally don't buy takeaway tea or coffee unless I'm in a real rush - me and my housemate both have a thermos which we fill with our caffeinated beverages as and when we need them each day. so much easier, so much cheaper than buying coffee to go - and so much better than the environment! 22 December 2009, 18:06PLASTIC CUP

Plastic Cups...
I'm currently doing a work placement in my training centre as a support receptionist, and i was inspired to take on the action "Use a Mug not a plastic cup" but the company only has a vending machine which served pre-packaged cups of tea and coffee, i've brought in my own mug but need to use 2 plastic cups to fill it, so i feel better for not using the mugs but conscious that i've had to dispense those two mugs in the first place, and so hampering my good intentions.
How can I get round it? 21 August 2008, 05:44

A coffee cup dilemma!
Hello
I am starting a small and ethical coffee company in the near future.
I have spent weeks and weeks (and weeks) researching the best take-away hot drink cup to use but seem to be going round in circles!
I have been bombarded with buzz words like PLA, biodegradable, compostable, recyclable etc and yet none of them seem to tick all the boxes! The problem seems to be that no matter how ethical my cups are - I have next to no control over what my customers do with the cups once they have finished (lets be honest, most will just chuck it in the nearest bin, or bush!)
Ideally, I would like a plain ripple cup (so I don't need a sleeve) and an eco-friendly lid. Does anybody have any ideas along these lines - or any suggestions!?
Many thanks and eco regards
Charlie

I NEED A MUG...
I will have it at work instead of the paper ones they use in the cafe...ok so my name is Emily but I could change it to Matthew (that is what my mum wanted to call me if I was a boy - 29 years ago to this very day!) It would make my birthday to have a we are what we do mug.... 11 February 2008, 10:14
Starbucks
Did you know that if you take a reusable cup to starbucks you get 25p off the drink???
They don't tend to tell the customers, wonder why? You can buy a travel mug from them for about £8 but a good idea is to get one from tesco for £2, you'll get the money back soon enough.
At least you won't feel so bad about using starbucks!! 27 November 2007, 15:16
