Every Wednesday lunch time I host knitting club at Blackburn College Sixth Form where staff and students can come along and either learn to knit or just brush up their skills and have a chat with like minded individuals. I learned from my friends
I was in an all-girl class in high school. My classmates knew a lot. They were very skillful at knitting. They made many scarves for their parents and friends... And I did too. I learned it from my friends in the break-times at school. It's amazing that they knew loads of styles to knit and they had also learnt them from many people: their friends, their mothers or even from the salespeople in markets where they came to buy wool. I knitted a scarf for my sister as a birthday present and she's very happy. I also taught my sister some styles she didn't know and then she did knit a scarf for her friend. 24 April 2011, 05:15With my Nanny
My Nan recently re-taught me how to knit because I'd forgotten and wanted to learn again. I know knit with her and both my cousins can now knit too ( I didn't teach them though, my Nan did) so I hope to knit with them all! 31 January 2011, 20:08AWSOME OLIVIA!!!!!;)

I started a knitting/crochet/sewing/craft group in our village in February to raise money for village projects - we made baby clothes, scarves, accessories, lavender hearts etc to sell - but we also made friends, had fun and created a great community. We're taking a break for the summer but will be back in action in September!Ladybird

We were making a square for a large tapestry using different textures and textiles at the primary school where I work. Several of the children asked if they could knit, surprisingly about half were boys. Some just needed help casting on or undoing their mistakes. One boy went on to make a scarf. 08 April 2010, 08:42Knitting together
We've gone a couple of times to stich 'n bitch sessions ... basically there's groups all over the country. It's usually in a bar or cafe and is just an informal group of people that knit. So you go, take some woll, a couple of needles and just knit and chat. It's fun. You get to meet lots of different people.knit with someone

Strictly speaking, it's not knitting but crochet. I worked in a call centre over the summer, and at antisocial hours (eg 6am) I got out my crochet to while away the time. Some of my colleagues were intrigued, I brought in some spare hooks and scrap yarn, and we started a crochet club in one corner of the room. Picture a row of young people with headsets on sitting in front of computers - all crocheting away! 09 October 2009, 20:40knit with someone
My mum taught me how to knit. And my granny taught her. She was so good she could read and knit at the same time. Genuinely amazing. Here's some of my adventures with knitting.http://www.toriflower.com/?a=electronicknittingtori
