Switch things off when you leave the room

 
This action has been done 10,013 times which means roughly £1,001.3 have been saved on fuel bills and there are much fewer little red lights glowing out there.

Have you ever spotted those little red lights? Your TV, computer and stereo might seem off but there's still a little red glow? Ever wondered what that was? Well, it's not a street lamp or a mouse. It's showing you that energy is still being used. Make sure you unplug items when you're not using them and you will reduce electricity use in your home by up to 10%.

    Turn off lights that are not needed

    It's amazing how often I find a light on that isn't really needed. I'm trying to remember to always turn these off as I leave a room or the corridore in my house. If I need to go back to that room, it's easy to flick the switch again. Every little it of energy saved helps our planet! 25 October 2010, 02:58

    Saving power

    nothing left on standby

    well i think it is very important to switch off lights when not needed. e.g.
    - going to sleep
    - when not in the room
    and etc.
    well it is actually very important to save energy becuase it is causing global warming...
    which is causing other countries to flood and weather change which is very bad so it is very important that we save energy and keep flood and weather change to happen. so be careful... cause we are destroying other countries and causing bad effects on people and areas and countries e.g. Bangladesh.
